Behind the Spud: Spuds, not Studs

Hello Everyspuddy!

It’s been a while since we’ve posted our Behind The Spud, but fear not! We are back and ready to keep you up to date with our latest developments!

Switching Things Up (again)

As you’ve heard, we’re working with Rising Star Games to release all three titles on both Nintendo Switch and PS4. Though the exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, we’ve already submitted our testing builds recently and are undergoing compliance testing.

Here’s how the interface looks like on Switch!

Changes include revising the UI to be bigger for PS4, as well as optimising the speed of gameplay on Nintendo Switch. Come hell or high water, we’ll be doing our best for this release!

I Fry with my Little Eyes…

As you know, we’ve already opened a store page for our latest game, Holy Potatoes! A Spy Story?! And if you don’t, check it out here!

A quirky take on the age-old trope, Holy Potatoes! A Spy Story?! is a spy-agency sim game where you manage your very own spy headquarters! Recruit new spies, train and enhance your potato team, discover and build crazy gadgets, vehicles and facilities, and embark on top-secret missions!

Despite its cuddly and fantastical setup, A Spy Story?! houses a darker tale of lies, deceit and betrayal. Follow twins Ren and Rexa on their journey to untangle the deeper mystery behind their parents’ disappearances.

More updates on our progress and release date will follow!

A Small Fry

hello, world,

I’m Pei Han, and I’ll be the new PR intern for the coming few months! It’s pretty challenging to come up with ideas to generate fame; though not as much as the artists and programmers who are busy crunching out assets and codes for our latest game, Holy Potatoes! A Spy Story?!,

For the past week, I’ve been working on a few attempts at sprucing up our social media and general outreach:

Nobody is safe.

It’s cringy to jump on the bandwagon, especially for a meme format that might better be left to 2009 Facebook or old Tumblr, but this is much more identifiable than current fleeting templates. One of the main challenges of creating memes is how short the timespan left before the format becomes over-saturated. Another constraint, however trivial, may be the difference in time zones, leading to a delayed participation in some trending hashtag or viral challenge.

Testing out comics! urks!

Even if they’re fun to draw, due to our plans for world domination, language barriers are one of the limitations of a comic series. However, they’re still on the table, and we’ll be working with our artists to see what other options we have! Stay tuned for our future posts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook!

Till the next Spudate,

Pei Han
