What the spud is going on everyone!
These past 5 or 6 weeks have been the most exhilarating, eye-opening, and mind-boggling weeks of the year. To start it all off, we attended Gamescom in Cologne, which was an amazing experience. We got to meet members of their team in Germany, officially sign our publishing agreement, and meet a few of the other developers that are working with Daedalic.Read more

Welcome back everyone!
We took a super long hiatus from the Behind the Spud posts as we had so much going on, but we are back with a whole bunch of new and updated content! Before we get into it, we exhibited at GDC and got a chance to meet a lot of interesting and influential people and had a lot of fun the 10 days we were down in San Francisco! As we got back, we had a million and one things to catch up on and follow up with. None the less, here we are with our fourth post on Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?!
Behind the Spud: Pimp My Ship (Pt. 3)1 Mar, 2016
The brotatoes, spudettes, and I wanted to update everyone on our progress in the past couple of weeks and our plans for the next few weeks. Before I get onto the nitty gritty details of the work we’ve been doing on We’re in Space, I just wanted to let everyone know that since GDC is coming up next week, we’ve been swamped working on a million and one things to prepare for it. Our spud designers have been busy getting artwork done for GDC and so this post will most likely be word heavy instead of art heavy.Read more

Welcome everyone to the second Behind the Spud post!
In the past week we have been really focusing our efforts on both the look of the game’s logo and the who, what, why, where, and when of the game’s protagonist. We have iterated and reiterated the main character and are coming closer to having her finalized! In addition, we have also been working on the protagonist’s partner in crime and right-hand!Read more

Be A Potato Blacksmith And Tell Cloud His Buster Sword Is Too Big13 Jan, 2015
I was originally drawn towards Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! by its name and bright, cartoon art style. But then I found out that you can tell Cloud his Buster Sword is too huge and, well, now I love the idea of this game.
In it, you manage a team of potato blacksmiths. This means you get to forge various weapons for heroes as they stop off at your shop to kit themselves out for whatever manifestation of evil they’re looking to fight. Why you’re a potato is beyond me, but hey, if GLaDOS can be a potato then so can I.Read more

Fantasy puzzle game Spirit Horizon review3 Jan, 2014
Developed by Singapore’s Daylight Studios and published by IAHgames, Spirit Horizon is a shiny new fantasy match-3 puzzle adventure mobile game.
It is less like Candy Crush and more like Line Jelly. Gems in Spirit Horizon come in four different elements — fire, wind, water, and earth. Players must connect three or more gems to create combos to fight monsters. The more combos you have, the more damage you will be dealing to the incoming Mist monsters. Spirit Horizon also attempts to add in some interesting challenges to the gameplay. For example, gems could be burning under a mob’s special power. You can still burst the gems, but the side effect is that you will be dealt burn damage.Read more
11 Startups in Asia That Caught Our Eye28 Dec, 2012
The Gutsy Entrepreneur28 Dec, 2012
I love listening to stories of successful entrepreneurs. Like with a movie superhero, they are always wracked by pain and struggles, battling oppression by stronger forces. But the hero always emerges as the victor by sheer resilience and courage. I recently met up with a Singaporean entrepreneur, and his journey is very much that kind of story. Plus, his startup has all the ingredients to become very successful in the near future.Read more
