Holy Potatoes! HPWIS PS4 Update?!

Hey Spudlings,

Holy Potatoes! We’re In Space?! is finally out on consoles, and thank you so much for supporting the game. Here is the first patch for the game on PS4, and it is available for download now. At the time we pushed out this patch, we were aware of a few minor issues reported by players, and we are looking into them. Another patch will be issued soon for those issues.

Behind the Spud: Last Sited

Hey Spudlings!

As you can see, we’ve spiced up the animations for the mission control. Here are other animations for different actions!

2trick charm evade

Other than switching up the animation, we’ve also uploaded more expressions so you’ll be able to keep track of your spies’ progress in missions or in training centres. It’s pretty cute, if I do say so myself – though Spyderman’s eyes shouldn’t be able to narrow like that.

Though the game’s really coming together, we’ve also been discussing how to keep things hyped up for players – A Spy Story?! is more strategic in nature, and has a unique Holy Potatoes! take on the spy genre. Hence, the first few minutes of gameplay may be quite contrary to expectations of the genre.

One way we’ve tried is to introduce an interesting cast (as you’ve seen, Souper Maria and Spyderman) instead of regular randomnised spies. Another would be the ability to plan and shape your own spy agency.

We’ve still got a month or so, so let’s try our best!

On a separate note, we’re finally able to announce that HPAWS will be officially released on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on 10 and 12 July respectively! Just in case you missed the announcement 😉

These past 5 or 6 weeks have been the most exhilarating, eye-opening, and mind-boggling weeks of the year. To start it all off, we attended Gamescom in Cologne, which was an amazing experience. I was originally drawn towards Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! by its name and bright, cartoon art style. But then I found out that you can tell Cloud his Buster Sword is too huge and, well, now I love the idea of this game.

In it, you manage a team of potato blacksmiths. This means you get to forge various weapons for heroes as they stop off at your shop to kit themselves out for whatever manifestation of evil they’re looking to fight. Why you’re a potato is beyond me, but hey, if GLaDOS can be a potato then so can I.

Developed by Singapore’s Daylight Studios and published by IAHgames, Spirit Horizon is a shiny new fantasy match-3 puzzle adventure mobile game.

It is less like Candy Crush and more like Line Jelly. Gems in Spirit Horizon come in four different elements — fire, wind, water, and earth. Players must connect three or more gems to create combos to fight monsters. The more combos you have, the more damage you will be dealing to the incoming Mist monsters. Spirit Horizon also attempts to add in some interesting challenges to the gameplay. For example, gems could be burning under a mob’s special power. You can still burst the gems, but the side effect is that you will be dealt burn damage.
